Mrs. Martina Meyer was born May 15, 1842, in Switzerland, and died of old age at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Schute, on September 1, 1930, at 5:30 a.m., at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 17 days.

Mrs. Meyer was the daughter of Martin and Marian Pfiffner and came to this country with them when a young girl. The Pfiffner family was one of the first to settle in this neighborhood, coming here before 1860.

She was united in marriage to Henry Meyer, who preceeded her in death many years. Mrs Meyer was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and of St Ann Society.

Funeral services were held on Thursday morning, September 4, at 9:00 o'clock, the Rev J.A. Dupont officiating. Internment was made in the Mount Olivet Cemetary.

Surviving her are two sons and one daughter, Adolph and Alfred and Mrs. Clara Schute.
