Mabel (Schweinefus) Wirkler
Mrs. Donald E. Wirkler, a resident of Castalia and vicinity for many years, died February 28 at her home in Monona, following a lingering illness. She was 54 years old.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon by the Rev. Edgar Zelle in Zion Lutheran Church at Castalia. Burial was in the cemetery at Monona.
As Miss Mabel Schweinefus she was born June 11, 1902 at Ossian, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schweinefus. She was educated in the Castalia Public school.
For many years she lived in Castalia and cared for her parents until their deaths.
On January 7, 1956, she was married to Donald E. Wirkler and made her home in Monona, where she passed away.
Survivors include her husband, two brothers: Frank and Otto of Castalia; and seven sisters: Mrs. Arthur Schroeder, Mrs. Fred Everman, Mrs. Eddie Meyer, Mrs. Millard Sampson and Mrs. Harvey Reinhardt, all of Castalia, and Mrs. Don Stoessel of West Union and Mrs. Elmer Kohls of Clermont.
