Helen E. Reinhardt

Funeral services were held for Helene E. Reinhardt, 77, Denison, Thursday March 4, 1999, at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home, Denison, Rev. Larry G. Lemke officiating, and Friday March 5, 1999 at Schultz Funeral Home, Monona with Rev. Bill Schroeder officiating. Burial was at Clayton Centre Cemetery, Clayton Centre, Iowa.

Helene E. Reinhardt was born January 29, 1922, on a farm in Read Township, Clayton County, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Charlotte Heuer Hoth. She lived on the farm until the death of her parents in 1929 and 1933. At that time she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Louise and Alvin Kaiser, who later adopted her. She graduated Guttenburg, Iowa. He died December 2, 1998. Helene received her BS in education in 1967 and her MS in 1973 from Drake University. She had a teaching career spanning more than 40 years. She taught at Giard, Elkport, Farmersburg, Guttenburg, Union-Whitton, LDF, Guthrie Center, and Dow City-Arion before retiring in May 1986. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid in Dow City. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and attending her grandchildren's activities. Since April 8, 1994, Helene resided at the Eventide Lutheran Home for the Aged in Denison where her death occurred early Tuesday March 2, 1999.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and adoptive parents, husband Keith, twin brother and sister in infancy, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lester Hoth, Leroy Hoth, and wife Emma, Reuben Hoth and wife Marilyn, and nephew Leland Hoth.

Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Bradley and Cindy Reinhardt of Davenport, Iowa, Linda and Mark Madison of Cumberland, Iowa, and Brent and Julie Reinhardt of Liberty, Missouri, nine grandchildren, Brian, Cory and Wendy Reinhardt, Mark Harris and wife Michelle, Marne and husband Rob Murray, Heather and Benjamin Madison and Matthew and Sarah Reinhardt, one great granddaughter, Sarah Fixmer, three sisters-in-law, Helen Hoth of Bentonville, Arkansas, Mary Sherman of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Lois and husband Dayton Lang of Ankeny, Iowa and one brother-in-law, Allen Reinhardt and his wife Rose of Guttenberg, Iowa nieces and nephews .
