SCHRUNK, MOCK, GULL, EGLSEDER

Ray F. Schrunk, 93, of the Villa Monte Vista Care Facility in Poway, Calif., formerly of Cedar Rapids died Monday, March 27, 2006 at the Care Facility after a short illness.

Services were on Saturday, April 1 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiated.

Burial was at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends called at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Friday.

Ray was born on Oct. 13, 1912 in Graham, the son of Fred and Mabel (Mock) Schrunk. He married Martha M. Gull on May 27, 1935 in Dubuque. She died in 1995.

Ray was the manager of the egg department of the Mee Too Supermarkets in Cedar Rapids and retired from there after many years of service. Ray enjoyed creating oil paintings of rural Iowa scenes as a hobby. He was much loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two sons, David and his wife, Sijia, of Poway, Calif., and Thomas and his wife, Ivancica, of Minneapolis, Minn., and a sister, Mayme Eglseder, of Guttenberg. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Fred, Erik and Brigitte Schrunk. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
