House Destroyed; 11 Left Homeless

STRAWBERY POINT, Ia. – A fire destroyed the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Dunn, Strawberry point, Saturday morning and left their family of eleven homeless.

Mrs. Dunn discovered the fire around the stove pipes of a trash burner in the laundry room at 8:15 a.m. and called the Strawberry Point volunteer fire department.

Some of the family’s clothing and furniture was saved, but all the clothing belonging to the two oldest children, Jerry, 16, and Rose Ann, 15 burned. Other children range from one year to 13 years.

The family is staying at the home of Mrs. Dunn's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burke.
