Strawberry Point, Ia. Jan. 2. – Special: Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Knight, who live 4 ½ miles southeast of here on what is known as the D. B. Biedent farm, on Tuesday observed their golden wedding anniversary. The farm in which they reside is the same as where Mrs. Knight was born and grew to womanhood, and which has been the family home continuously except for a few years spent in Nebraska.
Owing to ill health by both Mr. and Mrs. Knight it was impossible to have a big gathering, as had been planned, and only their children were present. The children are: and only daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Rowe of Oelwein, Ia.; and three sons, Orren and Fred, at home; and E. L. Knight of Minneapolis, who was unable to be present.
A dinner was served in the evening, Mrs. Rowe presented Mr. and Mrs. Knight with a wedding cake, which was the centerpiece of the table. Mr. and Mrs. Knight received a purse of gold and many tokens of esteem.
