In a ceremony officiated by Rev. Wayne L. Carlson, March 29, in the Methodist church in Strawberry Point, Miss Beverly Jane Betts, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Betts of Strawberry Point, became the bride of SA David Westerman, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Westerman Sr., of Mendota, Ill. Miss Fairlene Cook, of Arlington, cousin of the bride, acted as a bridesmaid, and John Westerman Jr., Mendota, Ill., brother of the groom, was best man. Little Margo Westerman, Niece of the groom, was the flower girl. The bride carried a white lace handkerchief which belonged to her maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Polly Hetzel, of Arlington.
At the reception in the church parlors for 150 guests, Mrs. John Buschhusen of Cedar Rapids, aunt of the bride, cut and served the cake.

She is teaching high school music and English in the Arlington public school. The groom is a graduate of Mendota, Ill. high school and Cornell college, where he was a member of the Gamma Tau Pi social group. He is at present stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station near Chicago, where he is a dental technician.
After a two week honeymoon trip, the bride will return to her position in Arlington, and the groom will continue his studies at the Naval Training Station.
