Miss Rita Mae Kann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kann of Guttenberg, and Gerald McGuire, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon McGuire, were married, Jan. 16, in St. Joseph's church at Garnavillo. The Rev. L. C. Ickel officiated. Miss Betty Lou Kann, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor, and Miss Joann White, friend of the bride was bridesmaid. Junior bridesmaids were Karla and Judy Kann, sisters of the bride. James McGuire of Guttenberg, brother of the groom, served as best man, and Virgil Kann, friend of of the groom, was groomsman. Ushers were Loyal Leighton, cousin of the groom, and Merlin Hoeger, cousin of the bride.
The wedding party had breakfast at the home of the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. H. Schoulte of Garnavillo.
The bride is a graduate of Garnavillo high school, and the groom served a year in the U.S. Army and has been farming since. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home on a farm between Guttenberg and Garnavillo.
