Glawe - Schmalfeld marriage - 1948

The marriage of Miss Bernice Schmalfeld, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schmalfeld of Elkader, to Harold Glawe, son of Mrs. Louise Glawe of St. Olaf, occurred Wednesday, Nov. 17. at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church, Elkader. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Mrs. Lawrence Miller Jr., sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The groom's twin brother, Harley, served as best man, Ushers were Delbert Hughes and Lawrence Miller Jr., brothers-in-law of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of the Elkader high school. Her husband attended the schools in his community and has since managed the home farm in partnership with his twin brother, where the new home will be made.
