In a candle-light service Sunday afternoon Miss Beverly Mae Hickman, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Hickman, Elkader, became the bride of Harold L. Klink, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Klink, Littleport. The Rev. Charles Gould Fort, pastor of the Methodist church at Sheffield, Iowa, uncle of the bride, officiated. Preceding the ceremony Helen Hickman, sister of the bride, lighted white tapers throughout the home. Miss Faye Hickman, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Leslie Klink served his brother as best man.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home, at which Mrs. Earl Pust, aunt of the groom, poured, while Mrs. Carrie McKay, Winthrop, aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake. Presiding at the piano during the reception was Mrs. Fort, Sheffield, aunt of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of the Elkader high school and Junior college and of Drake university, Des Moines. The groom is also a graduate of the Elkader high school and Junior college and a veteran of two years service in World War II. He is now enrolled in the college of commerce at Drake university, Des Moines, where the new home will be made.
Three of the couple's grandparent's attended the wedding. They were: the bride's grandfather, James Hickman, Winthrop, who celebrated his 85th birthday on that day; Mrs. Elizabeth Klink of Littleport, who has been an invalid for many years; and Mrs. Minnie Dilley, Elkader.
