Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Burlingame Sr., of Elkader, announce the marriage of their daughter, Marjorie, to Lorin Hamann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hamann of St. Olaf. The ceremony took place in St. Joseph's parsonage in Elkader on Jan. 19. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Taken officiated. Attending the couple were Miss Ruth Burlingame, sister of the bride, and Delos Hamann, cousin of the groom.
The bride is a graduate of St. Joseph's high school in Elkader and Pitze's school of Beauty Culture in Waterloo. For the past three years she has been employed as an operator in the Hand's Beauty shop in Elkader.
The groom is a graduate of the Monona high school and attended Wartburg college at Waverly. Prior to his induction into the armed service he was employed in a bank at Fredricksburg. He served as bombardier in the Army Air Force and received the commission of second Lieutenant. He was held a German prisoner for eight months. He received his honorable discharge last October and is now enrolled as a student at the State University of Iowa.
They will make their home in Cedar Rapids while Mr. Hamann continues his studies at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City.
