Niehaus - Auer marriage - 1950

At St. Joseph's Catholic church in Garnavillo, Tuesday, Sept. 19, Miss Patricia Auer, daughter of Mrs. Pearl and the late George A. Auer of Garnavillo, became the bride of Robert Wayne Niehaus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Niehaus of Guttenberg. The Rev. Louis Eickel, pastor, officiated. Acolytes were James Auer, brother of the bride, and James Schmelzer. Ted Auer, brother of the bride, gave her in marriage. Miss Annette Matt of Garnavillo was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Kathryn Kelleher and Miss Pat Roeder, both of Elkader. George Gregory Auer of Iowa City, brother of the bride, attended the groom, and David Auer, nephew of the bride, carried the rings and was accompanied by his little sister L'louise who carried a basket of petals.

Mrs. Niehaus is a graduate of the Elkader high school and Mr. Niehaus is a graduate of the Guttenberg high school and also attended the University of Iowa. They will take over the management of the Mrs. Pearl Auer farm near Garnavillo.
