Wenger - Boland marriage - 1945

An impressive wedding ceremony took place Saturday March 10, in St. Mary's Catholic church at Strawberry Point when Miss Anita G. Boland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Boland Strawberry Point, became the bride of William J. Wenger, A.O.M. 1/c, oldest son of Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Wenger of Volga City. The Rev. P. J. Boyle, pastor, officiated.

The bride, a graduate of the Strawberry Point high school, attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette, taught in the rural schools and recently has been employed in Chicago. The groom graduated from the Volga City high school in 1938. In Sept. 1942, he enlisted in the Navy and has spent the past twenty-two months in the South Pacific area.

The couple plans to leave later for San Diego, Calif., where the groom is scheduled to report March 27th.
