Fliehler - Baumgartner marriage - 1940

STRAWBERRY POINT: Miss Hazel Baumgartner, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Baumgartner and Raymond H. Fliehler, oldest son of Mrs. Cassy Fliehler, all of Strawberry Point, were married Thursday evening at St. Sebald Lutheran church. Pastor, Rev. Paul Eilers, officiated. Miss Bernita White of Fayette was bridesmaid and Attorney Donald J. Boddicker of Vinton was the groom's attendant. Ushers were brothers of the bride and groom, August Baumgartner of Strawberry point and Jack Fliehler of Waterloo and Almon Fliehler of Strawberry Point. Mrs. Fliehler graduated from the local high school in 1932, attended the Iowa State Teachers college, and has taught in the rural schools the past seven years. Mr. Fliehler graduated from the Strawberry Point school in 1929, receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the State University in 1935, studied law in the same school and was admitted to the bar in June 1938. He is at present Deputy County Clerk of Clayton County. The new couple will live in the home of the groom's mother in Strawberry Point.
