O'Connor - Cassidy marriage - 1939

STRAWBERRY POINT: Miss Kathleen M. Cassidy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. Cassidy, of Strawberry Point, and John J. O'Connor, son of Dr. and Mrs. J. B. O'Connor of Oelwein, were married Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic church. The Right Rev. Monsignor P. F. O'Connor of Mason City, uncle of the groom, officiated. A nuptial mass followed, with alter boys, Emmet Morris and James McTaggart, cousins of the bride. The bridal couple were attended by Miss Ann Cassidy, sister of the bride, and Cecil Borland of Nevada, Iowa, brother-in-law of the groom. The bride graduated from the Strawberry Point high school in 1936, and has been employed in Ryan and Oelwein, and for the past few months has assisted Dr. Frank S. Tuttle. The groom was graduated from the Sacred Heart school in Oelwein in 1932, and from Loras college in Dubuque. He also attended the Catholic University in Washington, D.C. At present he is agency manager for the Des Moines Register. The new couple will be at home in Creston.
