Mr. and Mrs. Peter Junk celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Monday, surrounded by their nine children, their 32 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

More than 100 persons enjoyed a dinner at Turner hall at noon, spent the afternoon in visiting, and attended a dance in the hall in the evening.

Solemn high mass was sung at services in their honor in St. Mary's Catholic church, of which they have been members for many years. The Rev. J.A. Dupont was in charge of the rites.

Mr. and Mrs. Junk were married Jan. 29, 1889. They held their golden wedding observance Monday in order that all their children might be present. They were wed in St. Mary's church, the Rev. J.B. Albers officiating.

Following their marriage they settled on a farm in the Buck Creek neighborhood and lived there for about 27 years. In 1915, they moved to Guttenberg where Mr. Junk operated a harness shop. Later, he was employed on the railroad, and for 12 years was custodian of St. Mary's church, the parsonage, and the school.

Mr. Junk was born in Germany Dec. 25, 1867, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Junk. Mrs. Junk was born Nov. 26, 1865, near Osterdock. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthias Schnieder. Their sons and daughters, who with their husbands, wives, and children, were present Monday are:

Leonard Junk, Ray Junk, and Herman Junk, all of Milwaukee; Math Junk of Bellevue; Mrs. Dan Smith of Patch Grove, Wis.; Mrs. Chris Mueller of Darlington, Wis.; and Mrs. Henry Buechel, Mrs. Herman Ihm, and Serenus Junk, all of Guttenberg.
