Lenth - Downie marriage - 1938

Miss Marjorie Downie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Downie and Herman Lenth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lenth, both of this place, were united in marriage Saturday, July 30 in the Congregational church. The Rev. N. O. Bartholomew officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Smith were the attendants. Both of the contracting parties are graduates of the Iowa Teachers College at Cedar Falls. Mrs. Lenth has held positions at Palo Alto, Frankville and Guttenberg, While Mr. Lenth has taught at Thornton and Denver, Iowa. They will make their home in Elkader until school begins in Denver, where Mr. Lenth will teach again this year.
