Mierson - Burke marriage - 1938

Strawberry Point: Miss Dorothy Burke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Burke, and Donald Mierson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Mierson, both of Strawberry Point, were united in marriage at the St. Mary's Catholic parsonage, Saturday. The Rev. Father John McCaffney of Masonville performed the ceremony. It also marked the birthday of the groom. The couple were attended by Miss Wanda Lang of West Union, and Hugh Goodrich of Strawberry Point. The bride graduated from the local public school in 1934, and attended the junior college at Elkader. For 3 1/2 years she was a rural teacher. The groom received his education in the public schools at Dyersville and Strawberry Point. He is employed at the Goodrich Standard Station. They will make their home in Strawberry Point.
