Jessen - Ruegnitz marriage - 1936

Tuesday, June 09, at the Lutheran church in Elkport, Miss Ruth R. Ruegnitz, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ruegnitz of Elkport, became the bride of Mr. John Jessen, oldest son of Mr. Jess Jessen of Strawberry Point. Rev. R. E. Damm officiated. Miss Marguerite Staub of Elkader attended the bride, and Burton Balluff of Strawberry Point attended the groom. The bride is a graduate of the Littleport high school, class of 1933, and later attended Elkader junior college. For the last year she has taught in a rural school of Clayton county. The groom is a Strawberry Point high school graduate, class of 1932, and since then is employed at Strawberry Point, where the couple will reside.
