On Wednesday night of last week McGregor suffered from an attack of the fire king. The row of wooden buildings between Stowe's grocery store and Scott's crockery store on Main Street was burned to the ground, six buildings in all. The first, a one story building, occupied by Mrs. Canfield, was owned by Thomas Arnold. The second, a two story building owned by Theo. Farrington, first floor occupied by Standart's millinery and residence; the second story by Farrington's Art gallery. The third building was owned and occupied as a warehouse by Ed. Stowe, the grocer; the fifth was owned and occupied as a warehouse by Hagensick, and the 6th was owned by J. P. Patrick and occupied as a warehouse by Q. A. Sloane hardware. A great share of goods in these buildings was saved, and yet there is considerable loss. Farrington's was a complete loss.
(Note: No information was given in the article on the fourth building consumed.)
