The social event of the season in Elkader society was the marriage on Tuesday of Miss Minerva Leach to Mr. Henry Meyer, of this place. The marriage took place at the home of the bride's parents on the East Side, Rev. C. A. Marshal, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating. The bride was attended by Misses Jennie Eno, of Sheffield, Iowa, and Mattie Everall and Anna Davidson, of Elkader. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Leach, of this place. The groom is cashier of the First National Bank, and has for many years served as secretary of the Clayton County Farmers' Insurance Co. Mr. and Mrs. Meyer have settled down to housekeeping in their home on Lantern Hill.
