Wachtell - Ely marriage - 1888

On Sunday last at the residence of the bride's parents in Elkader, occurred the marriage of Mr. Leo Wachtell, of Elma, Iowa, to Miss Irene Ely, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Ely. Rev. L. S. Cooley, pastor of the M.E. church, officiated. The groom is well known in Elkader, having formerly resided here as prescription clerk in one of the drug stores. He is now engaged in the drug business at Elma, Howard county, where he and his bride have gone to live.
