Blanchard - Gratke marriage - 1931

BLANCHARD, GRATKE

Wednesday, at the Joe Gratke home occurred a pretty and quiet wedding when his sister, Miss Hanna R. Gratke, became the bride of Bert L. Blanchard, both of this place, Rev. M. O. Jahr officiating. Paul Gratke, of Clinton, brother of the bride, played the wedding march, and Lulabelle Gratke, niece of the bride served as flower girl. Saretta Gratke, niece of both the bride and groom, carried the rings. After a wedding trip through Wisconsin the new couple will be at home with the groom's mother. The bride is eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gratke of Aurora, Colorado. She attended U.I.U. at Fayette, where she graduated in music. For the past few years she has been teaching at Little Rock, Iowa. The groom is a son of Mrs. Sarah Blanchard.
