Johansen - Hanson marriage - 1920

A wedding took place last Friday, Apr. 9th, in which Miss Martha Hanson and Mr. Carl Johansen were united in marriage at the Methodist parsonage at West Union, Rev. G. Chalice officiating. The bride is the daughter of H. R. Hanson. She is a graduate of the Waldorf College at Forest City and has been a teacher for a couple years. The past year she has been Red Cross secretary for Clayton county. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Johansen and is a promising farmer. He served two years in the late World War. part of which time was spent in France and in the army of occupation in Germany. They will go to housekeeping on the Johansen farm east of Gunder.
