We are glad to announce the happy event of a double wedding which took place in this place, Monday morning, Rev. Father Fogarty, officiating. The high contracting parties were Edward and William Chapman, of Dubuque county, and Mary Ann and Elizabeth Ryan, daughters of our old and respected townsman, John Ryan. It is not necessary for your correspondent to say a word in praise of the parties for they are widely and favorably known. After the marriage the parties took the morning train for their home near Peosta, where fiends were awaiting them, and a grand wedding reception was held on Tuesday afternoon.
