BEAN, FRIEND, RICE

Lyle H. Bean, former deputy clerk of the courts of Clayton county and Miss Mayme Friend, daughter of the late John Friend, formerly of Elkader, were married at Des Moines last Saturday.

The Sunday Des Moines Register gives the following account of the wedding: "In a quiet home ceremony last evening, Miss Mayme Friend, 511 Twenty-ninth street became the bride of Mr. Lyle H. Bean of Kansas City. Rev. E.G. Williams officiated at 6 o'clock in the presence of the immediate family. The bride is the daughter of the late John H. Friend, formerly of Elkader, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Bean will be at home at 3517 Central Street, Kansas City after November 15th".

Note: Lyle Harrison Bean's first wife Eloise N. Rice died a few days after their 3rd child was born in 1918. She is buried in Pleasant Grove cemetery, McGregor. Her obit is posted on the Obituary board.
