At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Davis, on North Page street, on Wednesday, Oct. 17th, occurred the marriage of their daughter Elizabeth to Mr. Horace Hamilton Smith. Rev. H. Briscoe Hall, pastor of the Congregational church, officiated. There were no attendants. The bride is a graduate of the Massachusette General Hospital Training School for nurses and is well known in her capacity as nurse. She is a talented artist with the pen and brush. The groom is one of our well-known businessmen and is prominent in church work and business circles. They will remain here in our city. Those present at the ceremony from out of town were: Angeline Davis, of St. Paul, Minn.; Frank O. Davis, of Sioux City, Iowa; Sue Davis, of Chicago, Mrs. James B. Schermerhorn, of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Baker, of Decorah, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Baker, of Decorah; Mrs. Wm. Beard and daughter Barbara, of Decorah; Mrs. Martha Schneider and Mr. and Mrs. John Allert, of Giard, Iowa.
