Freitag - Hakert marriage - 1934

At St. Paul's Lutheran church in Garnavillo, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m., occurred the wedding of Miss Greta M. Hakert to Mr. William H. Freitag. The ceremony was performed by Rev. M. J. Harder. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hakert of Mederville, and graduated from Elkader High school with the class of '29, since which she has been stenographer for one of Elkader's prominent lawyers and as operator in the local exchange of the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Freitag, Sr., and for the past two years has been employed by the Standard Oil Co., which recently promoted him to a managerial position, with Garber as his headquarters. Mr. and Mrs. Freitag will be at home in Garber after Oct. 1.
