Cook - Burke marriage - 1933

Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Burke announce the marriage of their eldest daughter, Miss Marie Frances, to Merlin A. Cook, youngest son of Mrs. Andrew Cook of Elkader, which occurred Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, 1933, at the St. Mary's Catholic church, Father P. J. Boyle officiating. They were attended by the bride's brother and sister, Harold and Miss Irene. The bride graduated from the St. Joseph's school at Elkader in 1930, and since that time has been a successful teacher in the schools of the county. The groom comes highly recommended. They have gone to housekeeping on the Cook farm near Elkader.
