Carpenter - Howard marriage - 1905

Last Thursday evening, Oct. 19th, Mr. A. J. Carpenter and Dr. Alice Howard stole a march on their friends and went to the Congregational parsonage and were united in marriage by Rev. G. W. Baxter. They were attended by Mr. H. L. Griffith and Miss Nellie L. Carpenter, cousins of the groom. The groom is the well known Cashier of the First National Bank of Elkader, while the bride is a daughter of Mrs. H. H. Williamson, of Boardman twp. She is a graduate of the Hahnemann Medical College of Chicago, and has practiced her profession at Elkader the past few years. They went to Fayette to visit relatives, and Monday evening they returned and are now fitting up a home for themselves in one of the Bayless cottages. We extend congratulations.
