The event of the season in the social circle of Elkader was the wedding of Jessie Edythe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Morse, and Dr. Arthur E. Beyer, of Guttenberg, which occurred at the Congregational church, Wednesday afternoon.
Carl Ihm and F. L. Wolf were ushers, the officiating clergyman was Rev. G. W. Baxter. Best man was Roy I. Cobb, of Mason City. Ribbon bearers were Lyle Bean and Robert Morse, followed by the Misses Anna Stemmer and Eva Jack as ushers and Mrs. Maude Freeman Cobb, of Mason City, matron of honor.
Among those in attendance were listed: Mrs. J. A. Morse and three sons, of Waseca, Minn.; Mrs. Kate Beyer and daughter Laura, mother and sister of the groom, Chas. E. Beyer and wife, Ira R. Beyer and wife, and H. F. Beyer, of Edgewood; Henry Rienow, grandfather of the bride, of Prairie du Chien.
The bride is the only daughter of Conductor and Mrs. J. M. Morse of this place. The groom, whose home was at Edgewood, is now a physician and surgeon at Guttenberg. Having made Elkader his home for the past two or three summers, he is well and favorably known to our readers.
