One of the finest social events that has ever transpired in this vicinity was the nuptials of Mr. M. H. McCarthy, of Dubuque, and Miss Annie Dunn, of Elkader, which occurred Tuesday, Feb. 18th, at the Catholic church in Littleport. Rev. Father Coyle performed the ceremony. The contracting parties were attended by Miss Ellen Donlon, of Highland, and Mr. E. Schallian, of Dubuque. The bride is well and favorably known here, being the only daughter of Mrs. Dunn, and has resided here many years. Mr. McCarthy has long been a resident of this county, where his mother, brothers and sisters still live. He has taken up his abode in Dubuque, about three years ago, and where he intends to reside with his bride.
