Kress - Dorman marriage - 1929

Miss Doris Dorman, of this place, and Mr. Philip W. Kress, of Mallard, stole a march on their friends and went to Spirit Lake, Tuesday, June 11, and were united in marriage by Rev. O. N. Bond. The marriage was kept a secret until last Saturday when cards were received.

They were attended by Miss Helen Quintard, of Alta, and Mr. Edward Wixon, nephew of the groom, of Meridan.

The bride is is the only daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Chas. W. Dorman of this place, and graduated from Strawberry Point high school in 1921 as valedictorian. She attended the State Teachers college at Cedar Falls and graduated in 1924. She has taught two years in Alpha, and the past three years at Mallard. The groom is a son of Mrs. Elizabeth Kress of Mallard. They will make their home at Mallard.
