Feeney - Laity marriage - 1929

St. Mary's church was the scene of a quiet wedding Monday when Rev. John R. Bowen, pastor of the bride, officiated at the nuptial mass and ceremony which united in marriage Ruth E. Laity, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Laity, Jr., and Ralph J. Feeney a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Feeney, of Elkader. The witnesses were Miss Helen Feeney and Mr. Joseph Feeney, sister and brother of the groom. The ceremony was further witnessed only by the parents and near relatives of the bride and groom. The bride graduated from the Strawberry Point high school with the class of '27 and has completed one years work at the Iowa State Teachers college where she was a member of Delta Phi Delta sorority. Mr. Feeney received his education in the Elkader schools. The young couple left for Milwaukee and Chicago and will locate at either place.
