Brown - Gifford marriage - 1925

News of the marriage of Douglas Brown of this place and Miss Ilo Gifford of Dubuque at Marengo, Iowa, on March 12th was received here yesterday as a surprise to their Elkader friends. Douglas Brown is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Brown of this place and is studying medicine at the State University at Iowa City. His bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Gifford of Dubuque and a niece of Mrs. John Bock of Elkader. She will graduate from the State University this spring. Both have hosts of friends in Elkader and Clayton county who will join us in wishing them a full measure of happiness and prosperity.
