Whitney - Carpenter marriage - 1897

On Thursday, Aug. 26th, occurred the marriage of A. E. Whitney and Miss Carrie B. Carpenter, at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Mary Carpenter, in Fayette.

They took the afternoon train for Chicago, where they will take in the sights and also superintend the selection of the carpets, furniture, etc., for the Hotel Bayless, where they will be at home to their friends after Oct. 1st.

Mr. Whitney is a former Elkader boy, and is well known as the future landlord of Hotel Bayless. Mrs. Whitney is the niece of Mrs. D. G. Griffith and is also well known to many Elkader people.

The Register Extends its heartiest hopes that their life may be long and happy.
