On Tuesday, May 25th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Andersen, occurred the marriage of Sophia Andersen and John P. DeFontain, both of Dubuque, Rev. Fritchel, of Elkport, officiating. Those in attendance from abroad were: Ed and Henry Oelke and wives, Arno Oelke and Mrs. Shelerman, of Farmersburg; Jos. Wirkler, wife and daughter, L. Herterich and wife, L. Keehner and wife, Mr. Thompson ad wife, Mr. and Mrs. Nichols, of Garnavillo; P. P. Gifford and wife, Mrs. Struby and Mrs. Schnepf, of Elkport; H. L. Gifford, wife and son Elmer, of Littleport; W. P. Andersen, H. Peterman, Mrs. DeFontain, and Mrs. Knoernschild, of Dubuque.
