At the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse B. Turner, in East Elkader last Saturday, May 20th, Miss Jessie F. Turner became the bride of Mr. Frederick B. Schmidt, Rev. William J. Warner officiating. The attendants were Hazel F. Dohrer, close friend of the bride, and Walter Turner, brother of the bride. The bride graduated from the Elkader High School with the class of 1920, and has been employed in the office of the Elkader Democrat since before her graduation until they installed their linotype. She then became monotype operator with the Elkader Register, resigning shortly before her marriage. The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Schmidt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is a graduate civil engineer from the State University of Iowa, class of 1920, and now holds a position with the Bureau of Public Works of the state of Illinois as a testing engineer. They will make their new home in Alton, Illinois, where the groom is presently working.

Elkader Register, Thur., 25 May 1922.
