A wedding was solemnized at Sr. Mary's church Saturday morning, Sept. 1, when Miss Julia Mary Quinn, of this place, became the bride of Mr. Leo Michael Roach, of Elkader. The Rev. John Bowen officiated. The bride was attended by Miss Mae Roach, sister of the groom of Elkader, and the groom by Kenneth Quinn, brother of the bride, of Dubuque. Mrs. Ed. Quinn played the wedding march. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Quinn and a 1924 graduate of the Strawberry Point High School. She attended the State Normal college at Cedar Falls one term. For the past four years she has been a successful rural teacher. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Roach of Elkader, a graduate from the Elkader parochial school and a successful young farmer. They will be at home on a farm near Elkader. The out of town guests present were: Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Boland, of Fairmont, Minn.; Geo. Quinn, of Wichita, Kansas: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Quinn, of Pontiac, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Quinn and daughter, of Edgewood; Kenneth Quinn and Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Quinn, of Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Boland, of Elkader; Miss Mamie McDermott, of Rider, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Roach, Mr. and Mrs. John Roach, Harold Roach and Miss Mae Roach, of Elkader.
