After Back Taxes.
When the widow of Diamond Joe Reynolds died it was revealed that the estate amounted to the handsome sum of $2,800,000. Now that collecting back taxes has become a fashionable pursuit, the supervisors of Clayton county have decided to undertake to get a slice of this sum as taxes due for 1896, '97 and '98. The highest appraisement of the estate during this period was $160,000. The discrepancy is certainly worth investigating.
