Married - At the house of Mrs. Daynes, McGregor, Iowa, on the evening of Sunday, July 13th, by Rev. S.P. Sloan, Linus P. McKinnie, late of the 21st Iowa Infantry, to [Miss or Mrs] Rebecca Lacy of McGregor.
A nice basket of cake, a beautiful bottle of Catawba and a complimentary card gave proof indoubtable that our friend "Line" had shuffled off the mortal coll of bachelorism and had entered that state of blissful rest reserved for the faithful. The alliance of an American soldier with an English lady is proof that peace will be the order between the two ruling powers of the globe.
We guessed last week, that the "Rebecca" of Ivanhoe was in danger of capture - this issue of the Times confirms the prediction. Cultivate the dindliest relations toward each other - remember that you are both mortal; liable to err; possessed of the average amount of human weakness; "be good and you will be happy". Our best wishes.
