Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's church, Rev. J. F. Reilley officiating, occurred the marriage of Wm. M. Assmus, of Independence, Iowa, and Miss Mary Francis Quinn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Quinn, of this place. The bride has been employed at the Hospital at Independence for some time. The groom is a young business man of Independence.

A pretty wedding was solemnized in St. Joseph's Catholic church in Elkader December 29th, the happy principals being Miss Francis M. Quinn, of that city, and Mr. William M. Assmus, of Independence. Rev. Father Reiley officiated, and the attendants were Miss Mamie Assmus and Mr. Carroll Quinn, brother of the bride. Among those present were the groom's brother, Frank B. Assmus, of Manchester, his sister, Miss Mamie Assmus, of this city. The happy couple, after a brief wedding trip, will come to this city to make their home. They will be "at home" after February 1st, in the Carey residence on East Main Street, which the groom recently purchased. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Quinn, and has been employed as a nurse at the Hospital here. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Assmus, of this city and is associated with his father in the meat market on Main Street. - Independence Bulletin-Journal.
