Mr. and Mrs. Anton Lorenz, well known residents, will observe their golden wedding anniversary at their home Sunday, May 2. A family dinner will be served at noon and open house will be held in the afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 o'clock.
Mrs. Lorenz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kirch, was born July 21, 1875, in Clayton County.
Mr. Lorenz was born in Dubuque on December 7, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bohn of Dubuque. When four years of age his mother passed away and he was legally adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Anton Lorenz, also of Dubuque. When 19 years of age he came to Guttenberg. He was a butcher by trade and operated a meat market for years. He later became a button-cutter. At present he is assisting his son in a service station business.
The couple was married on May 3, 1893, in Guttenberg, where they established their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz are the parents of four children, Vivian and Lester at home, and Arnold of Portland, Oregon. The eldest daughter died when an infant. They also have three grandchildren.

Notes: Anthony 'Anton' (nee Bohn) Lorenz died December 2, 1947 and is buried in the Guttenberg City cemetery. Frances M. (nee Kirch) Lorenz died October 4, 1954 and is also buried in the Guttenberg City cemetery. Obituaries for both are posted on the Clayton county Obituary Board.
