Gmelin - Zahrndt marriage - 1914

Yesterday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis F. Zahrndt occurred the marriage of their youngest daughter, Miss Martha L. Zahrndt, to Mr. Henry C. Gmelin. Rev. C. H. Franke officiated in the presence of the immediate relatives. The couple took the noon train to Clinton, Iowa for a short visit, after which they will occupy the flat over Lamm's store. Both bride and groom have been residents of Elkader since childhood and are graduates of the Elkader High School. For several years the bride has been a successful teacher in our county schools, while the groom has been foreman and assistant editor of The Register & Argus for the past thirteen years. We extend congratulations.
