A very pretty wedding took place at St. Alpho__o's Catholic church at Chicago on Monday, Aug. 29th, Father Thommer officiating, which united in the holy bonds of matrimony Miss Anna Scannell and Mr. Francis J. Orr. The bride is the second oldest daughter of Mrs. Sophia Scannell. She is a graduate of Monona High School, and since that time has been employed at Chicago. The groom is the only son of Mrs. Frank McGruder. He is a graduate of Elkader High School, and since that time has been an experienced barber, He is well known in Monona, where he was employed by the Keppler barber shop a few years ago. He now has a permanent position as barber in Chicago. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Scannell, and by her friend, Miss Blanche Henley. The groom was attended by his friend, Mr. Harold Corkery. After a short wedding trip to Monona, Elkader, Dubuque and Clear Lake, they will reside in Chicago.
