Jeffers - Schmidt marriage - 1907

At the residence of Mrs. Caroline Schmidt at Elkader, at 9:30 Wednesday morning, Nov. 6th, occurred the marriage of her daughter Elizabeth to Dr. Wm. J. Jeffers. Rev. F. Leonhard of the German church officiated at the pleasing ceremony in the presence of some seventy-five guests, intimate friends and relatives of the contracting parties. The bride was unattended save by her brother, Robert F. Schmidt, who gave her away. The bride is one of Elkader's most popular young ladies born and raised here and having graduated from our High School. The groom has been a resident of this place for several years, where he is engaged in the practice of dentistry. Dr. and Mrs. Jeffers will be at home in Elkader in the Schmidt residence after Dec. 1st.
