On Wednesday, January 5th, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schmidt, north of Read, occurred the marriage of William Staack and Miss Esther Schmidt, Rev. F. Athenstadt, of the Lutheran Church, of Read, performing the ceremony, in the presence of only the immediate families. The bride was attended by Miss Anna Staack and Miss Emma Lembke, while Ben Schmidt and Theodore Glawe acted as best men. The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Staack, of Clayton Center, and the bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schmidt, of Farmersburg township. The newlyweds will go to housekeeping on a farm in Garnavillo township which the groom has rented.
