Miss Silveria Nieland and Mr. Serenus Eilers, both of Guttenberg, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. Joseph Dupont at St. Mary's Catholic church in this city on Tuesday morning at nine o'clock in the presence of relatives and friends. The couple was attended by Miss Odelia Nieland, sister of the bride, and Mr. Leo Eilers, brother of the groom. After the marriage ceremony at the church a reception was held at the bride's home in this city in honor of the happy young couple at which a number of relatives and friends were present, and a most pleasant day was spent by all. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Nieland, of Guttenberg, and is a young lady who is loved by all who know her. She is highly qualified in every respect to make a happy home and loving wife for the young man of her choice. The groom is a son of Mr. Bernard Eilers of this city and an ambitious and trustworthy young man, one who has won the respect of all in this community and is well worthy of his chosen bride. Mr. and Mrs. Eilers will go to housekeeping on a farm in Garnavillo, and the best wishes of a host of friends go with them on their journey through life, as they are both most worthy young people.
