Merriman - Smith marriage - 1921

Mr. Walter Merriman and Miss Winnifred Smith were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Smith, last Friday at high noon, Rev. W. H. Smith officiated. Just relatives and the immediate friends of the family were present. The bridal couple left for Des Moines Friday afternoon amid a shower of rice, from there they will go to Harcourt, Iowa, where they will teach in the high school the coming year. Mr. Merriman was formerly principal of the Volga High School, resigning to go to France. Mrs. Merriman has lived here all her life and was a successful teacher. She attended school at Fayette and Ames. All join in wishing them a long and harry wedded life.
