Wednesday morning, June 22, at seven o'clock in St. Joseph's church here occurred the wedding of Miss Kathleen Maher and Mr. B. J. McShane. Miss Calista Maher, sister of the bride was bridesmaid and Walter Bink was best man. Rev. Father J. P. Taken officiated.
Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride to the immediate relatives and a few friends.
Yesterday noon the newlyweds took the train for Washington, D.C., where they will visit with Mrs. McShane's sister, Mrs. S. H. Allen, after which they will go to their future home in Denver, Colo., where Mr. McShane has a position with Taub Bros., as commercial artist.
The bride is the second oldest daughter of Mr. P. J. Maher of this city, and is well and favorably known, not only in Elkader and vicinity, but also in other places where she has followed the teaching profession. The groom several years ago was employed in Poull & Bink's department store and while here made numerous friends, who will join with us in wishing this young couple a happy and prosperous wedded life.
